It’s been an awfully stressful week, but despite all that, it’s an update!

So now we know what Eldora and Icy found in the room, and we sort of know where it came from. Curious.

Totally up for some discussion over in the forums, hint hint… On that note, I’m having another go at Buzzcomix if you’d like to take a second to vote and help me out. That would be terrific.

First off, welcome new visitors who may be coming from here and there around the internets! I just put up a little advertising, and I hope it works.

Secondly, an idea:

I’ve been playing around with making a [messenger] widget for the Dashboard in OSX. I currently have a friend beta-testing it for me, but I’m curious to know if anyone would be interested in it if I made it a download on the site. Do any of you use a Mac? Comment and let me know.

Taking a few minutes to do a couple of software upgrades, so the site will look kind of funky for the next 20 minutes or so! Back in a few!

Update: Looks like this is going to take just a bit longer than I expected it to, just hang in there and try to ignore the green?

One half of this upgrade is done, and it’s already taken twice as long as I expected it to. It’s all downhill from here though, and at least everything looks normal again, so there.

Finally. The semester is over, along with exams, so I’m officially on break! Classes were a lot rougher this time around than I expected, though I haven’t got my grades yet so I suppose we’ll see just how rough they actually were soon enough…

With all that out of the way, I finally got around to actually working on the comic again. I had a bunch of free time this week, so I got most of the rest of this chapter sketched out, and some of it partially inked. It’s enough of a head start that I’m hopeful about keeping it updated more regularly from here out.

Anyway, some news:

- The forums got clogged with spam (again) even after my upgrades to try and keep the spammers out. And then the version of phpbb I was running got to be waaay out of date, and potentially insecure. After the recent hack-tastic disaster I had, I didn’t want to take any chances, so I basically just obliterated the whole thing and started new. Again. While I’m annoyed at having to delete the accounts of actual users, along with actual posts, since the database couldn’t be imported into the new phpbb, having a secure forum is a plus, as are the changes it brings. Go check it out!

- [messenger] will be moving servers before the summer is out. I’m running out of space, and just becoming generally frustrated with things as they are. This really shouldn’t be news, but I think it’s a good idea to mention it early on so people don’t assume I either died or gave up when some disaster inevitably hits when I do start transferring things. Hopefully I can afford to move. Anyway.

- LJ: I’ve opened up the restrictions on Ye Olde [messenger] LJ Community so that everyone can join, post, and comment as they please. I started it up just for news posts originally, but since I’m making my news posts here now, there’s no point in keeping it locked up. Seriously, go join.

And that’s about it for now. I’m slowly adding more to the site that never made it through the original rebuild after the hack, so that will be upcoming in the next few days as well. Enjoy!

Very minor notes here from myself and my cat. Now that classes and exams are over I’ve started in on a couple of new pages; so far pencils are done, inks on some, colors on one. I’d like to get enough of a head start so that I don’t fall behind again before I go wild and start updating again. Regardless, this will be soon! Work and life are keeping me busy, but not that busy.

This is really odd, but I got an email from my webhost earlier this evening saying my account’s been cancelled. I definitely didn’t ask for it to be cancelled, and I can’t think of a reason why they’d kick me out, but I think I’ll take this as reason enough to finally take the initiative and move on to bigger and better things. So, as a well-in-advance warning, things may shake up a bit here in the next couple of months, but nothing permanent.

In short:

I’m not dead, I’m still working, and I’m not going anywhere (even if it looks like I am, am not, and have.)

Hello, internets! It is Monday and the first official day of my Spring break. I have been rather busy with classes and other work up to now, but since it’s break I ought to be able to get out another page or two before the week’s out. Rock.

Anyway, this is me encouraging everyone to visit the forum, catch up on comics for a day or two, and listen to some OK Go because I enjoy them and I said so. And relax, if you’re also on Spring break.

Aaaand…we’re back! Mostly. Some pages are still being rebuilt, and some things are still being put back together, but for the most part life is good.

I’m trying to get myself back in the groove of drawing regularly, more specifically drawing comics regularly. I’ve had a zillion major life changes going on lately along with a crazy workload this semester, but I think I can pull this off if I try. While I was putting the site back together and uploading all the pages again (one at a time…aaaaaa….) I looked at the amount of pages I put out in 2005 and 2006, and then compared it to 2007…yeah. I need to get back to working like that. And I will, over time. But for the meantime, I am back. I have pages in store for the coming weeks, along with other very cool things.

One neat project I am working on right now (RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND!) is making a video about how I make the pages. Kind of a time-lapse thing. I wanted to have it ready to upload along with this page, but iMovie is being finicky and I’d rather get the page out so I can get myself on track, so that’s just going to have to wait for now. But it’s looking pretty neato so far, so yay.

So this is my first official update of 2008. Let’s hope the others come just as easily…

All of the pages in the comic to date are now posted and working for your reading enjoyment, so have at it! The forums are also freshly de-spammed and waiting for new posters. Most of the other pages of the site are empty as I’m still filling them back in, although the Fanstuff page has just been finished and it’s pretty neat, so you should check it out.
